Kikino Metis Settlement is one of Alberta's eight Metis Settlements, with its own local government under the Metis Settlements Act. The settlement's own site places it about 40 km south of Lac La Biche and says the name comes from Cree, translating to "Our Home".
The 2021 census counted 978 people living on the settlement. Of the occupied homes, 280 were single-detached houses and 25 were movable dwellings. The Metis Settlements General Council lists water delivery among Kikino's services, and the settlement's own site lists sewer pumping as a request made through the settlement. Royal Flush works on the plumbing inside homes and businesses, such as pipes, drains, water heaters and leaks.
The Government of Alberta rural utilities map shows an Apex Utilities natural gas franchise area for the Kikino Metis Settlement. If you smell gas, leave the building and call 911 and Apex Utilities from outside. Once it is safe, Royal Flush can repair gas lines, furnaces and heaters.
