Hydro jetting, or high-pressure drain jetting, sends water at very high pressure through a hose and nozzle into the drain. Rear-facing jets drive the nozzle up the line and scour the pipe walls, while a forward jet breaks up the blockage. A snake opens a path through a clog. A jetter cleans the whole inside of the pipe, which is why jetting is used for grease build-up in kitchen lines, sludge in main lines and roots.

Water leaves the nozzle at an angle, backwards. That pushes the nozzle and hose up the line and scours the pipe walls as it goes.

Jetting is widely used on drain and sewer lines, with the pressure and nozzle matched to the pipe. Pipes that are badly cracked, collapsed or very old may need to be looked at first, because jetting cannot fix damaged pipe. Royal Flush does drain pipe repairs as well as jetting.
