Roots grow toward moisture, and a drain or sewer line gives off water vapour and nutrients at cracks, loose joints and old seals. Fine roots work their way in, then grow into a mass that catches grease and paper until the line slows or blocks. Royal Flush clears roots out of the line and repairs damaged drain pipe.
Signs of roots include slow drains throughout the house, gurgling, and a main line that backs up again a few months after it was cleared.
Clearing the roots restores the flow. If the pipe is cracked or a joint is open, roots will usually come back, so the lasting fix can be repairing that section of pipe.

Often, yes, if the crack or open joint they came through is still there. Clearing the line restores the flow, and regular cleaning can keep it flowing, but the lasting fix is usually repairing the damaged section of pipe. Royal Flush does both root removal and drain pipe repairs.
